What It Takes to Become a Certified Goodbye Graffiti™ Technician
Each year, Graffiti Removal Technicians hired by Goodbye Graffiti™ franchises across Canada get together for a week of hands-on certification training. This past May was no different. It’s an internal program, but it’s worth talking about, because the level of training these technicians go through is not what most people would expect.
Every Goodbye Graffiti™ Graffiti Technician (GT) must complete an intensive training program and score above 90% on a final exam before they’re certified to work in the field. Once certified, technicians are equipped to identify and remove graffiti across more than 50 different surface types using more than 75 different marker and paint formulas. That education is extremely important because the wrong product on the wrong surface can cause permanent damage, so getting it right every time requires real training.
What the Week Covers
Product knowledge and application.
Goodbye Graffiti™ has developed its own line of proprietary removal products over 25+ years. Technicians learn which product fits which situation:
– Spray bombs
– Marker tags
– Stickers removals
– Posters removals
– Paint restoration
Training includes a full section on environmental responsibility: prioritizing cleaning over painting, proper waste water collection and safe chemical and container disposal. Every War Wagon™ is built with a zero-impact waste water collection system, and technicians are trained to use it correctly.
Why It Matters
Graffiti removal may look simple from the outside but each process is unique and complex. Improper removal attempts can permanently stain or etch a surface, leaving property owners with a bigger problem than they started with. The technicians who come out of this program know their products, know their surfaces, and are held to a standard that reflects that.
Congratulations to everyone who completed certification this May. The communities you serve are better for it!
