Goodbye Graffiti Seattle – 2015 Green Globe Winner

Congratulations to Laurie Spivack and the team at Goodbye Graffiti Seattle for being named a 2015 Green Globe Winner.

King County Executive Dow Constantine on April 20 honored 14 businesses, cities, organizations and people for the work they’re doing to protect and improve the local environment. The Green Globe Awards are the County’s highest honor for local environmental efforts.

Goodbye Graffiti Seattle was named Leader in Environmentally Sustainable Business Practices

Goodbye Graffiti’s sustainable business practices have earned it 5-Star certification from the EnviroStars program. It uses a water-borne wax coating for porous surfaces specially formulated by their parent company, which allows for graffiti removal with little or no hazardous product and up to 80 percent less water. Vehicles have built-in wastewater collection technology they pioneered, and graffiti removal sites are bermed, to ensure no releases to the stormwater system. It also uses electric fleet vehicles, educates customers and other businesses with EnviroStars materials, and its weekly maintenance program has proven to lower the incidence of graffiti.

Congratulation to Laurie Spivack and the team at Goodbye Graffiti Seattle for achieving 5-Star Envirostars Certification.

The EnviroStars Program was created in King County, Washington in 1995, as a service of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program. It has since been adopted across the region in Jefferson, Kitsap, Pierce, Skagit, Spokane, and Whatcom Counties.

The mission of EnviroStars is to provide assistance and incentives for smaller businesses to reduce hazardous materials and waste, in order to protect public health, municipal systems, and the environment.

The EnviroStars Cooperative received a prestigious “Most Valuable Pollution Prevention Program” award from the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, in Washington DC (2006).

The EnviroStars Program was honored with the Washington Governor’s Award for Pollution Prevention & Sustainability (1999)

Chinatown BIA one of Goodbye Graffiti™ Toronto West’s newest clients is finishing up their initial cleanup by getting every last graffiti mark in their area removed.

A 62’ articulation boom lifted our Certified Graffiti Removal Technicians high over the city.

Goodbye Graffiti™ has begun Phase Two testing on a new addition to our custom manufactured SuperGreen™ graffiti removal product line that allow us to remove virtually any mark on any surface. On June 17, 2014, our Certified Graffiti Removal Technicians from our Vancouver operation conducted a controlled Phase One test under the direction of our President, Perri Domm.

The variables in the test project included having all our comparable products used on the same surface with the same type of mark (ie – several layers of paint with black ink marker on poured concrete), a 24 hour poultice dwell time, and using the same technician when completing the removal process so there were few differences in the removal methods. Phase One of our extensive hands on testing was a success. Phase Two will include field testing focused on shadowing and natural stone surfaces. Goodbye Graffiti™ is fully committed to continuous improvement of our environmental practices, the most important of which is having fast, effective and environmentally friendly removal products. We will ensure we continue to utilize the most comprehensive graffiti removal product line available anywhere in the world.
